We built a list of “How might we…?” questions to facilitate our users’ goals and objectives:

  • How might we provide an experience that is pleasant and valuable for our users?

  • How might we ensure they have access to essential information about their events through their mobile devices?

  • How might we provide a tailored experience that allows users to identify what discretion and security mean to them?

Card Sorting
I conducted a card sorting session involving members of our sales and support teams. I used this technique to determine which features of the control panel should remain, be relocated, or removed based on the information architecture of our platform and how much value they were adding to our control panel.

Common people and (especially entrepreneurs) wanted to buy bulletproof vests online from a website with optimal accessibility, but more importantly, to purchase the products in a discreet, secure, and legal manner. The current purchasing process is too complex and frustrating.

People desire a simple and direct way to place an order.

The company cannot sell bulletproof vests to anyone without first verifying their information and police record.

Problem

The story begins with something that worries the inhabitants: insecurity. As a citizen who has lived in Guayaquil, Ecuador, I know the challenges firsthand. Recognizing that insecurity is a universal bad experience, I set out to understand it better. What did I learn?

Insecurity is not only about the lack of physical safety but also about the perception of risk and the emotional vulnerability that affects the community as a whole.

Conclusion

Thanks to the impeccable collaboration of the client’s work team, after the workshops, it was practically unnecessary to make any revisions, neither in the information architecture nor in the visual design. It was fantastic.

As a learning experience: I understood the group’s expectations and clearly communicated the exact objective of the individual exercises.

I received several feedbacks, meaning many :), that browsing the website is really satisfying.
